Discovering the Artist: How Knowing the Creator Adds Value to Art

In the world of art, the connection between the creator and the observer is as vital as the artwork itself.

It's not just about acquiring a piece of art; it's about embracing the story, the emotions, and the journey that led to its creation.

For anyone who adores art and cherishes  moments spent in nature, this is where our paths cross and stories intertwine. Join me as I discuss my love for nature and how and how this creates a special bond with you the viewer through a series of interviews and exciting upcoming events.

A Conversation Among Artists

I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of a fellow artist's blog series. It started with a simple yet heartwarming introduction: Emily Johnson, a fellow artist, began her latest blog post  "I'm thrilled to introduce this new monthly series! This newsletter came out of a conversation with a friend where I kept talking about 'my artist friends. She laughingly asked how she could meet all my artist friends, and it sparked this idea….”

This series “Meet My Artist Friend”  is a beautiful initiative that brings artists closer to those who love and appreciate art. I am humbled to be featured and invite you to read our conversation in the full blog post.  Please also check out Emily’s work, a fellow artist and nature lover living in Alabama and exploring life on the water and the gorgeous southern scenery!  https://www.emilygjohnson.com/originals

A Chat with Unique Muskoka

The local magazine, Unique Muskoka, and I also had a thoughtful discussion about how nature influences my art. "Clearly, nature is important for West..." begins the excerpt. The article touches on how the natural beauty of Muskoka serves as both inspiration and solace for me.

I shared my hopes of evoking cherished memories in those who see my work. If you're curious to learn more about this aspect of my art, Unique Muskoka's full article is available for a deeper dive.

In a feature by muskokaregion.com, the focus was on how the charm of Muskoka landscapes translates into my art. "Muskoka magic soon fell onto the canvas..." they described.

This piece also highlights the diversity in my work, including commissioned portraits. For further insights into my creative process, feel free to read the complete feature here.

Upcoming Exhibitions

I'm also excited to share that I'll be participating in two upcoming art shows - the 'Julia Veenstra & Friends Square Foot Show' and the Paula White Diamond Gallery's 'Big Ideas Show'. These events are wonderful platforms for artists to connect with the community and share their vision.

I'm looking forward to these shows and hope they provide an opportunity for art enthusiasts to engage with a variety of artistic expressions.  Please follow the links  for more details, I would love to have you join us, online or in person!

The magic of knowing the artist behind the art – it's not just about the painting; it's about sharing a piece of our world together.

Sharing these experiences and reflections is a way for me to connect with you on a more personal level. Art is a conversation, and every interview, article, or exhibition is a chance to delve deeper into this dialogue.  It's like a shared secret between us, a nod to those quiet moments we've all had, soaking in the beauty of nature. This shared love for outdoor spaces and the memories they hold turns each artwork into a conversation, a mutual celebration of those little slices of paradise. That's the magic of knowing the artist behind the art – it's not just about the painting; it's about sharing a piece of our world together.

Cheers,

Serena
