Hardy Lake island painting 

How did I miss this hidden gem?  I've lived in Muskoka for years, and finally made it out to Hardy Lake Provincial Park last summer.  We walked the trail to this gem of an island and captured such stunning photos just as the sun was beginning to set through the trees.

When I was back in my studio, I just knew I had to paint this iconic Muskoka island!

Muskoka, Canada, is brimming with breathtaking spots just waiting to be discovered! My two sons and I cherished our little adventures down the trail to the beach by High Falls in Bracebridge, turning it into our own treasure hunt for wood pieces to craft with. We fondly called it "Treasure Beach," and the stunning view of the falls always made the hike worthwhile. I've collected countless fond memories and just as many photos on my phone from our times there. It's inevitable that one of these cherished moments would find its way into a painting.
